This mobile app connects clients with cleaning professionals for house cleaning services. It addresses common problems for both groups: clients find it difficult to find reliable and affordable cleaners, while cleaners struggle to find consistent gigs.
The design focuses on a simple, trust-centered user experience. It offers features like instant search and filters for clients, flexible scheduling for cleaners, and in-app booking and secure payments. The goal is to create a seamless platform that is easy enough for anyone to use, while also building trust and ensuring fast connections. Key differentiators for CleanConnect are its focus on a single service, a low-friction experience for workers, and an emphasis on trust and safety through ratings and profiles.
CleanConnect is a mobile-first, two-sided marketplace platform designed to match time-strapped individuals and families with reliable, local cleaning professionals. The mission is to reduce the friction in finding, vetting, and booking household cleaning help—making it as seamless as ordering a ride or scheduling a dog walker.
Modern life places immense demands on people’s time. The research confirmed that:
83% of working adults in urban/suburban areas want help with cleaning but find services unreliable, hard to book, or too expensive.
At the same time, a growing gig economy is creating flexible labor availability—students, part-time workers, and micro-entrepreneurs seeking local jobs with quick payouts.
Yet no platform in the market today fully addresses trust, flexibility, affordability, and speed in one experience.
We conducted 8 interviews and 2 surveys across both user groups, and found:
“I don’t want to chase someone through DMs. I just want to book and pay securely.”
“It’s awkward negotiating price. I just want a transparent rate and quick service.”
“It’s hard to get consistent gigs unless I know people.”
“Apps like TaskRabbit feel overbuilt. I just want to clean, get paid, and move on.”
I also researched similar apps on the market, and found:
Most competitors either:
Try to serve too many job categories (TaskRabbit, Thumbtack), which dilutes the experience
Rely on traditional service models with heavy onboarding (Handy), which limits casual workers
Focus on trust but lack speed and flexibility (Nextdoor, Thumbtack)
CleanConnect’s opportunity lies in combining:

A dedicated, frictionless UX focused solely on cleaning jobs
Create a lightweight, trust-centered platform for one-time or recurring house cleaning jobs—simple enough for a 60-year-old user, efficient enough for a gig-savvy 20-year-old.
Adopt a lean UX methodology—fast iteration cycles with rapid prototyping, user testing, and focused validation.
Frictionless Discovery – Local cleaners surfaced instantly with useful filters
Transparency & Trust – Ratings, reviews, profile tags (e.g., “Green Cleaning,” “Pet Friendly”), and built-in messaging
Effortless Booking – Pick a time, see the price, confirm in a few taps
Secure Transactions – Full in-app payment, no third-party tools
UX Simplicity: Optimized for one use case: booking local cleaners—no clutter, no confusion
Worker Inclusion: Welcomes casual gig workers (students, part-timers) with low onboarding friction
Trust & Safety: Focus on ratings, identity badges, and profile transparency
Flexibility: Both clients and cleaners can easily schedule/reschedule via in-app tools
Speed to Match: Real-time availability + instant messaging = faster matches than quote-based systems
